Artist Residence

Location: Artist Residence

Do you fancy somewhere cosy where you can let your hair down? If so, then you have come up to the right door. A new 10 bedroom boutique hotel with a cool cocktail bar and all-day restaurant has recently opened just a 5 minute walk away from Victoria Station in Central London.
I am walking along a quiet area of Pimlico, between Belgravia and Chelsea, and it feels like I’m miles away from the hustle and bustle of London. I’ve been looking forward to visit the Artist Residence, London ever since I first heard about it. From the outside, it looks immaculate as it is a stucco-fronted building mixed with an electric style giving it a ‘home away from home’ vibe. It is built on the site of an old Victorian pub.
Good news, the room is ready! I am ushered to the luxury Grand Suite on the first floor with a four-poster super-king size bed, a huge cast iron freestanding bath, a sitting area for four, sunny sash floor to ceiling windows, limited edition prints and bespoke furniture. It’s like my very own luxury pied-à-terre. The suite includes a mini-bar stacked with organic and independent beverages and snacks on the shelves . I’m already tempted to bite into some organic Rocco honeycomb covered in chocolate!
There is a box wrapped in delicate wrapping paper and a silk ribbon sitting on the bed. Are you as intrigued as I am? I carefully unwrap the box to reveal a set of beautiful, luxurious pyjamas with subtle details which is perfect for my ultimate Sunday attire from Desmond and Dempsey. I am surprised to see that the top has my initials on the bottom of the left sleeve adding to an already sentimental touch. Prior to your stay, you can buy Desmond and Dempsey clothes from the Artist Residence or, alternatively, you can order directly from their website
Did you hear my stomach rumble? It’s time to grab something to eat. The Cambridge Street Kitchen offers all day dining and the menu looks rather delicious. I have already planned on what I am having for breakfast tomorrow. To my surprise, there is a hidden cocktail bar below the Artist Residence. I follow a twisting staircase down to a room of neon lights, where there is artsork on the bare brick walls and stacks of bottles watching over red leather high stools.  You will find a creative cocktail list inspired by famous works of art.
The hotel itself is in a prime location within walking distance from popular sights such as Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Hyde Park. If you fancy getting out of London for the day, you can get a train from Victoria to Brighton that takes just over one hour. The Artist Residence has it all.
